The House of the Undying

Having led the survivors of her khalasar across the red waste, Daenerys came to Qarth, greatest city that ever was or will be, where merchant princes offered marriage for dragons and the blue-lipped warlocks offered truth. In the dusty ruin of the House of the Undying, drinking shade-of-the-evening, she walked through chambers of visions: her brother Rhaegar naming his son the prince that was promised, a blue-eyed king casting no shadow, a feast of corpses, and the whispered riddles she would carry ever after. Three fires must you light, three mounts must you ride, three treasons will you know. At the heart of the palace the Undying Ones themselves, blue and withered things, fastened upon her to feed, until Drogon filled the hall with the first dragonflame loosed in anger in a hundred years. The House of the Undying burned, the Sorrowful Men came with their knives, and Daenerys took ship from Qarth with the warlocks' hatred at her back.
