Seat of House Tallhart, standing beside a lake at the southern edge of the wolfswood, southwest of Winterfell. Its masters have long held the western approaches for the Starks, guarding the lands between the wolfswood and the Stony Shore.
The Square
The castle takes its name from its stout curtain wall, raised square and true with a tower at each corner, some thirty feet in height. Modest beside the great seats of the North, it has nonetheless turned back raiders from the western sea more than once.
Masters, Not Lords
The Tallharts style themselves masters of Torrhen's Square rather than lords, yet the distinction has never lessened them in the eyes of the North. Their men are counted among the steadiest that march beneath the direwolf banner.
