Seat of House Dayne, raised upon an island where the Torentine meets the Summer Sea beneath the western Red Mountains. The Daynes are among the oldest houses of Westeros, and legend holds their castle was built where a fallen star struck the earth in the Dawn Age.
Dawn
Within Starfall's walls is kept the greatsword Dawn, pale as milkglass, forged it is said from the heart of that fallen star. No Dayne wears it by right of birth alone; only a knight judged worthy may bear it, and take the ancient title Sword of the Morning.
The Palestone Sword
Highest of the castle's towers is the Palestone Sword, a slender white spire rising above the sea. From its heights, it is said, a lady of Starfall once cast herself into the waters below in her grief, and the tower has kept her sorrow since.
