Port town on the southern shore of the Bay of Crabs, seat of House Mooton, whose castle stands on a hill above the harbor. Ships out of the narrow sea call here in numbers, and the town has grown rich on their trade.
Jonquil's Pool
Maidenpool takes its name from the pool where, as the singers tell it, Florian the Fool first beheld Jonquil and her sisters bathing, and lost his heart entire. A bathhouse now encloses the famous waters, and travelers come from half the realm to see them. The men of Maidenpool weary of japes about the matter, and more than one visitor has learned that the town's patience for mockery is shorter than its songs.
