Seat of House Waynwood, named for the great oaks that stand about its walls, hard as iron and older than the castle itself. It lies east of the Giant's Lance amid some of the richest lands of the Vale, and its lords are counted among the proudest and most powerful of the Arryns' bannermen.
Honor and Ceremony
The Waynwoods of Ironoaks are famed throughout the Vale for their devotion to honor and to ceremony. No house observes the old courtesies more strictly, and it is said a Waynwood would sooner die than break a sworn word. Their knights ride to tourney and to war beneath the broken wheel, and their word, once given, is held as good as any oath sworn before the Seven.
