Seat of House Hightower, rising from Battle Isle where the Honeywine meets the Whispering Sound. It is the tallest structure ever raised in Westeros, a stepped tower of white stone that lords over Oldtown, and the beacon at its crown burns green when the city calls its banners to war.
The Beacon
At the tower's summit a great fire is kept burning through every night, a light that sailors mark from many leagues out to sea. By its glow the ships of half the world find their way into Oldtown's harbor, and the Hightowers style themselves the Light of the South.
Battle Isle
The tower stands upon a foundation of fused black stone, square and impossibly ancient, raised by hands unknown before the coming of the First Men, if the oldest tales be true. Upon that riddle of the Dawn Age the Hightowers built ever higher, each king and lord adding to the work of his fathers.
