Seat of House Swyft, set amid the farmlands of the southern westerlands. The blue bantam rooster of the Swyfts flies over some of the richest fields in the west, and the castle takes its name from the golden corn that surrounds it.
The Granary of the West
Where most western lords dig their wealth from the earth, the Swyfts harvest theirs from it. The lands about Cornfield yield grain in plenty, and in lean years the storehouses of the castle have fed no small part of the west.
A House of Service
The Swyfts are not counted among the mightiest houses of the west, yet they have long been diligent in service to Casterly Rock, and their knights and stewards are welcome in the halls of the great. Their fortunes have risen and fallen with the debts and marriages of their lords.
